Original Grain
Role: Social Media Manager & Photographer
Original Grain, or OG for short, is a health food restaurant serving Good. Feels. Food. In the heart of Syracuse, NY Original Grain offers a Cali inspired place to enjoy delicious food, pop music, amazing company, and a positive atmosphere. The colorful branding matches the bright energy of the shop, decorated with plants, polaroids, and floor to ceiling windows. Our social strategy was to position the brand not just as a fast casual lunch spot, but as a place to hang. With the objective of conveying Original Grain’s positive energy and ultimately driving consumers to the shop, we focused on a few different categories.
1. The people. What’s a good meal without wonderful people to share it with!? It was important to showcase Original Grain’s employees and repost customer photos to create a sense of community, both online and in the shop.
2. The place. With a shop this beautiful, it’s no surprise that people like seeing photos of the hanging plant structure, the skateboard wall, the tall glass windows, or the cool merch. Original Grain is the place you want to be, and this translated to social media through the bright, colorful, and creative atmosphere. Photos of the shops environment were always among the most engaging posts.
3. And everyone’s favorite - the food. When deciding where to eat many people browse a restaurant’s social channels. So in order to sell our food, we needed to sell it on social first. As apart of the everyday strategy, we posted our mouth-watering sandwiches, grain bowls, smoothies and more (from both us and our customers). Not surprisingly, the most popular menu items were also the top performing posts on Instagram.
